Of Diligent Procrastination

Today I am actively avoiding preparing for school. Tomorrow will sort of a return to work day; it’s a classroom prep day followed by two buy-back days then two contract days and Monday will be the first day back with students. For the moment I’m going to reminisce about my summer.

During the beginning of summer I was house sitting for friends in the City so I used the opportunity to explore. The home I was sitting is walking distance to the zoo so I headed on over! As I started on the post I must admit that I hadn’t looked through my photos from the zoo since I actually was there nearly a month ago so I found this confusing.

Why the heck did I take this picture?

As I zoomed in I realized I was trying to capture remaining hot dog head (IYKYK). It was a little foggy when I got there so I told myself I would come back in the afternoon to take another one. So I did but I think failed on the picture. In apology to myself I dug up a photo I took when I saw the dog heads randomly on Treasure Island a few years ago.

When I arrived in the zoo I noticed that many of the critters sleeping. That was disappointing. Well, for me anyway. I’m sure the animals were fine with it.

I did get lucky seeing feeding time at one of the bear enclosures.

Honestly, it wasn’t very exciting, or even amusing. What was amusing to me was the rhino butt.

I felt proud of this shot.

I appreciated the warning.

I sat down to enjoy some lunch when this happened.

How rude.

Overall despite the snoozing animals it was a good visit. The only thing I would change if I could, is not misplacing my glasses.
