As summer inches closer, 19 days to go, I am anxious to adventure more. Meantime I thought I’d share some more photos from my recent, relatively, jaunt to the Central Coast. For those of you not from CA as well as those from here who may not know, the places in this post are all relatively close to each other and are worth meandering.
Cutting over from I-5 on HWY 46 near the junction of 41 you can swing right and visit Parkfield, the most seismically active place in CA:
While there you can photograph retired vehicles and farm implements:
Or if you’re lucky, catch a vintage car show
Returning to 46 you can make a pit stop at the Jack Ranch Cafe and visit this infamous site:
After lunch at the Jack Ranch Cafe head back down 46, after a bit take a right across from the giant grape vine fountain and visit Shandon Chapel:
On another day, head out from Paso toward the coast and Hearst Castle. On your way there or back Stop over in Cambria and visit Nitt Witt Ridge:
Or just skip all of that, though I don’t know why anyone would, and explore Hearst’s Castle:
