So I emailed the search agency I’m using to try and find out what information I would receive re: my birth family. I don’t think I was specific enough in my query though.
I wrote, “I never asked what kind of information I would receive about my birth family and am just curious. How detailed will it be? Identifying? Non-identifying?”
“Identifying!” was the response. Not even marginally helpful.
I think I should prepare to be over- rather than under-whelmed.
